Handicap Establishments

This is always the main source of issues so read carefully.  We will use the World Handicap System (WHS) for calculation of handicaps with a couple minor adjustments.

Handicap Index

The Handicap Index is in short, a player's traveling handicap.  It is calculated by a series of calculations, thus all the confusion when caps either don't adjust or

adjust a lot.

The WHS has a chart for how many rounds should be used to calculate for number of rounds played but since we are only using Tournament rounds for calculation, we will use all recorded rounds within the last 12 months.  After 12 months a round will drop off and not be used for calculation.  Once a player has 9 scores entered the best 8 scores will be used for calculation which is consistent with the WHS.

Players who move choose to move up a box at age 62 will not be allowed to move back.  If they have no scores entered from the up box to use in handicap calculation they will loose 1 stroke off their calculated handicap for every 2 rounds until they have all 8 scores entered from the up box.

All Handicaps will be calculated from the same box.

Maximum playable handicap will be 16. Any player with a handicap over 16 may play but they will be entered as a 16 handicap for tournaments.

On 2 day tournaments the handicap will be the set before the tournament and the same for both days however both rounds will be used in calculating a players Index after that tournament.

Tour Administrator will have all scores and calculations available at any time for players to verify their index.
